Final Qualifying Course for the 2009 Open Championship
Host to the Boys Amateur Championship 2010
Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club is located on the outskirts of Troon on Scotland's west coast and has been offering golfers a magnificent links golf challenge in Ayrshire for over one hundred years. Recently the Club has been delighted to welcome increasing numbers of visitors from the United States, and Europe - particularly from Sweden and Germany - as well as the rest of the UK and Ireland.
Within striking distance of Royal Troon, Prestwick and Turnberry, the course itself is an Open Championship Final Qualifying venue with a well deserved reputation for some of the best maintained greens in Scotland. The club now has twenty seven holes with which to test the golfer complemented by excellent facilities in the clubhouse and professional's shop.
We believe that Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club offers everything you would expect from a Scottish seaside golf course; challenging links and a friendly, welcoming membership.

Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club Website
We are delighted to introduce the Kilmarnock (Barassie) Golf Club website, features on the site include:
Barassie Links
Barassie has undergone considerable changes over the past few years and not only has twenty seven holes with which to test the golfer but also has much improved facilities in the clubhouse and professional's shop. The additional nine holes are part of the championship course and have added a different dimension to Barassie with a par of 74. The course measures at just under 7000 yards and the new holes provide some wonderful challenges perhaps no more than the par 3 fourth hole or the quirky dog leg par 5 eighth. The course is challenging but is typically what Scottish Links golf is about-large undulating greens, deep bunkers and doglegs.
